Magic of Tarots and Oracle cards...6 steps to activate their power

When we talk about oracle or tarot cards, there is still the belief that is something linked to "dark magic", something associated with the old thinking of witches.

Before going into the ritual of empowering the card deck it is important to understand the magic power they have. As all the the powerful things can be used by people in a bad way... which has nothing to do with the cards but with the intent is set to the person who decide to work with this energy.

My relationship with cards has not always been the same.

In Italian culture cards have been associated with evil... which is something has been introduced by the Church to mystify again the role of woman and dark magic of being witches.

I've always been drawn to cards, and I have started "reading" tarots and Italian sibilla (a special traditional oracle deck) around my 20ies.

The cards were a way for me to trust my intuition and be connected with my higher self.

What happened was that my intuition was soooo powerful that I have attracted many people who wanted to predict their future.

The main issue was that I absorbed a lot of negative energy during these sessions, provoking nightmares during sleep and also it was going against something I truly believe is one of the most beautiful gift we receive in life, which is the freewill.

I have suddenly decide to stop reading cards and did not touch them again for more than 10 years.

I decided to start approaching cards again about 2 years ago, with a completely renewed view and approach.

Cards are indeed a powerful instrument, it is our choice to use it in the right way.

They should be used to seek for guidance instead, not to tell us what our future will be...because not only we don't have to go against free will, but also to live the moment... to live the NOW.

This was for me an important introduction to make, it took me a lot to realise that, and I want to make sure you don't think cards is something bad or if you decide to use it to make sure you are setting the right intentions.

And now let's go to the ritual to activate the power of your cards:

1) Prepare:

Light a candle and incense. Set in special place, close to your altar if you have one

2) Medidate:

Hold your deck in your hands, take a deep breath and start connecting with it. Think why you have chose that deck, what was the moment you have made the choice and why.

3) Shuffle your cards

While shuffling them you will start connecting with their energy

4) Connect:

Look at all the cards one by one, start connecting with them, feel which card you like most and which cards give you bad feelings... try to understand why some cards are giving good or bad feelings.

Especially those you don't like, work with them more...they have some message important for you

5) Clear:

Take the incense and smoke all the cards again one by one to bless / clean each of them

You can also use crystals to clear their energy like black obsidian to protect and selenite or clear quartz to absorb negative energy. Just leave the crystals on the table while you are doing the ritual and ask the crystals to help you clearing them.

Moonbath or salt are also other ways to clear the energy.

6) Bless:

You can also say something to activate the power, just trust your intuition. Ask the blessing of the cards to give to you the guidance you need for you and for the people you might be reading to.

Keep the cards in a good place and put some crystals on it to absorb the negative energy and protect them.

You can use this ritual every time you feel the cards need to be "charged". Here are some examples of situations when cards might need to be charged or cleaned:

- You don't use them for a long time

- The have been exposed to a lot of negative energy from a negative client or from a particularly difficult situation in your life:

- Somebody has touched them

- You feel that the reading is unclear or not accurate
