šŸ’„ The Burnout Nobody Warns You About — And What Your Hormones Have to Do with It

Over the past few days, I’ve shared how burnout hit me hard.

But what I haven’t told you (yet) is why I got there — and it goes way deeper than stress and long hours.

Sure, I was overworking, chasing recognition that never came, and trying to stay ā€œstrongā€ in a work environment where showing emotion was… not exactly welcomed.

But there was another layer I didn’t see coming — and honestly, it’s one most women aren’t warned about.

Yes, we all technically know we have a menstrual cycle. But do we really understand it?

Spoiler: your hormones are not just making you ā€œmoody.ā€ They’re literally shifting your energy, your focus, your confidence — and how your nervous system handles stress.

And you know what?

The modern workplace is not designed for any of that.

It’s built around flat, linear productivity… not the beautiful, messy, powerful cyclical nature that women live with every month.

Through my own burnout and recovery journey, I discovered Menstrual Cycle Awareness (MCA) — and let me tell you:

It changed everything.

I’ve been practicing MCA for 5 years, and recently became certified as a Menstruality Mentor through Red School — pioneers in this space.

When you learn the four seasons of your cycle (yes, you have inner seasons!), and start aligning your life and work with them — burnout becomes less likely. Clarity becomes easier. Productivity feels more natural.

But here’s the thing:

Not every woman experiences the cycle in the same way.

I live with PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and irregular cycles, so it’s been extra important for me to understand how my nervous system gets overstimulated.

And whether you’re postpartum, on hormonal birth control, navigating endometriosis, or just figuring out your rhythm — it all matters.

🩸 We need to talk more about this. Not just for women, but for the workplaces we live in every day.

And especially for men — because if you want true inclusion, understanding female energy isn’t optional.

(Spoiler: working in a male-dominated industry didn’t exactly help šŸ˜…)

In the next post, I’ll break down the four phases of the menstrual cycle — and how aligning with them can reduce stress, improve focus, and bring your power back online.

If you’ve ever felt like you were constantly pushing against yourself… this is for you.

Let’s change the way we work, one cycle at a time.

Are you joining me on this revolution?
